Clarissa M. Palmer, Ph.D.

I am a Professor at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. My research interests are heavily focused on Human-Animal Interactions, research design, and assessment. My teaching interests closely align with my research and include research methodology, assessment in educational settings, and social psychology.

This video is a product of the work I conduct with our local Restorative Justice(RJ) program. I have worked with several youth, referred to the RJ program for various reasons, and with various certified pet therapy dogs and their handlers.

Duncan, a certified pet therapy dog, works on campus and at our Center for Young Children and Families where he helps support children in the development of their reading skills.  In addition to working with at-risk adolescents, I also  investigate how pet therapy can support child development.
