Clarissa M. Palmer
From a young age, animals have been a significant part of my life. Even before I was born, there were ducks, dogs, and cats in our family. Once I was born, more pictures exist of me with companion animals and farm animals than with my parents. My parents (mom in picture to the right) continued to encourage exposure to animals and knowledge of animal history.
As an adult, I have focused my knowledge and appreciation of animals to help continue educating people on the animal perspective. My work as a university professor allows me to reach students at a critical time in their development in terms of compassion, empathy, purpose.

I work from a framework that people need to know about an issue before we can care about the issue and we need to care about an issue before we can act on behalf of an issue.
Know - Care - Act
